Trip to Koh Samui by Train part 2

Most people visit Thailand and Koh Samui on holiday choose to access this remote island paradise, situated as it is a boat ride four-hour flight from the mainland. While there is nothing wrong with it, is to achieve the fastest and easiest Koh Samui, which is another interesting option, which many travelers are comfortable.
Every day there are several trains from Hua Lamphong station in Bangkok, and make the city's long southern Surat Thani. Traveling by train in Thailand is slow, and the 800 km trip takes about 12 hours, a grueling journey, sitting on a vinyl chair. However, there is another option. Each night, a night train leaving Bangkok, and makes the same journey during the night.
While there are three categories of people are on this train, we're talking about first class in this short article. Train travel first class in Thailand is not expensive. Book a bed private first class train from Surat Thani to Hua Lamphong, for two people costs about 3,000 baht, $ 90 or 60 pounds. For this price you get a private cabin with two beds, a sink, and room service all night to bring food and beverages, including alcohol. The first class facilities and bathrooms are much better than second class and have a western toilet and a shower.
We can see that the accommodation is very comfortable and the cost is negligible, but why would anyone want to spend a night flight on a train when you can, for a little more money? The answer is simple, the trip to Koh Samui itself is fascinating. It is part of the dream, but what comes next. In the morning, a porter on the train, the beds are raised in a comfortable seat. You can then order breakfast and spend the next two hours watching the forest road through the windows across the last part of southern Thailand in Surat Thani, Chumphon, very beautiful landscapes.
If you get off the train station in Surat Thani, opened the next part of the trip to Koh Samui.
After leaving Surat Thani train station, you must subscribe to Donsak port where the ferry to Koh Samui to take the lead. There are two options for this part of the trip. Just outside the station are one or more buses, the train waiting for passengers heading to the port of Donsak. These carriers are selling a combined ticket that includes both the coach and contains the ferry. Although this is the cheapest option, it is rather a long journey by bus, take a detour and picked up other passengers tend. Perhaps the best solution is to take a taxi which is very cheap and is much cheaper and much faster.
There are two ferry companies, the first is Seatran, and this is just a passenger ferry. The second is the slit and is a combined passenger and ferry. Most people seem to prefer Raja, probably because it is bigger than the ferry, with plenty of room to walk.
This is the most interesting trip you take a slow two hours by boat from the port of Donsak, Koh Samui. On the way he passes the Ang Thong National Marine Park and will travel very close to several uninhabited islands. The trip is almost flat, and a reception on board the ferry.
So we do not like to travel to Koh Samui for the night train from Bangkok and then from the mainland by ferry. A trip much longer than a flight to Koh Samui, but much more interesting.
